Teachers, unsure about the difference between Khan Academy and Khan Academy Kids? Typically, Khan Academy Kids is used for students in Pre-K through 2nd grade, while Khan Academy is meant for older learners in grade 3 or above.
If you support students working on multiple grade levels, you can create a teacher account on both platforms.

Please note that accounts for Khan Academy and Khan Kids are separate. Your account information for Khan Academy will not work on the Khan Kids app, and vice versa.

Khan Academy Kids:
- Is a mobile app (a list of compatible devices is here)
- Is designed for learners ages 2-8, or Pre-K through 2nd grade
- Features content for math, ELA, SEL, executive functioning, creative play, and movement all in one place
- Lessons and activities are aligned to Common Core and Early Head Start Framework standards
- Provides teachers the ability to easily assign lessons and monitor progress
- Engages young learners with colorful characters and an adaptive Learning Path that adjusts automatically
- Is designed for young learners who can’t read yet. Kodi Bear and friends will guide your child through the app so that they can work independently.
Khan Academy:
- Is available as a website or an app
- Has math and ELA practice for grades 2-12, with more subjects for middle and high school
- Subjects are arranged in separate courses
- Provides teachers the ability to easily assign lessons and monitor progress
- Has lessons and activities aligned to Common Core State Standards
