Weekly Planners
Our Weekly Planner is a printable template that parents can use to plan out educational activities for the week ahead, or to check off accomplishments to boost motivation! Visit our Weekly Planner page to download templates for specific age ranges, and to read about tips for boosting learning experiences at home. Planners are available in English and in Spanish. Don't miss our seasonal themed planners, where we've suggested activities for fall and winter.
Daily Schedules
Our team has put together daily schedules that can be printed out and used as a resource to provide structure for children throughout the week. We know every family is different, so we've created a few options—choose what best fits your needs! Ready-to-use schedules are the quickest and simplest to use, and will be a great support for your child. We also offer make-your-own schedules, where you can collaborate with your child to create a custom schedule.
Printables
Many distance learning options require a device, and we know it’s important to limit screen time. These free printable activities offer an off-screen learning option for families to enjoy. Browse through our offerings to find fun, interactive worksheets on a wide variety of educational subjects.
Circle Time on YouTube
We launched a YouTube channel featuring Circle Time, a weekly show with storytime and activities for young children. During Circle Time children can interact with Caroline and Sophie from the Khan Kids team as they encourage kids to read, play, and learn. Subscribe to Circle Time so you can check out our latest episodes.
Camp Khan Kids
Camp Khan Kids is a free, self-paced summer learning program for children ages 2–8. The camp guides parents and children in a playful educational journey using Khan Academy Kids as a launchpad into hands-on learning. Families can mix and match activities that best meet their needs. Even though the camp is offered in July, we keep the schedules up all year long in case parents need ideas throughout the year. Here is an example of our schedule for Water Week!
Tips for helping children learn to read
At Khan Academy Kids, we strive to do everything we can to support your child as they grow. That means providing outstanding educational resources both inside and outside our app. With that in mind, we’ve introduced a series of literacy posts written from the perspective of a teacher and designed to help you support your learner. Our hope is that these resources give you tools to help your whole family build a love of reading!
Tips for using Khan Academy Kids
Our free Khan Academy Kids app covers math, reading, writing, social-emotional learning, and creative play for children ages 2-8. Inside the app, there is a Learning path that covers these topics for kids to experience independently. There is also a Library where lessons can be self-selected. With so much content, it can be hard to know exactly where to start. Watch the video below for a quick tour!
Teacher Tools
For parents who are interested in additional features for teaching with Khan Kids, feel free to check out the teacher version of the app! With Teacher Tools, you can create assignments and monitor progress with in-depth reports. Find out more about the possibilities by reading our introduction to Teacher Tools, here. Teacher accounts are 100% free, just like parent accounts.
Fun Zoom Backgrounds
Learning or meeting remotely? The Khan Kids crew has backgrounds for you! Start in the Kids' Club and proceed through every character room in the house. Young learners will love seeing themselves, their parents, or their teachers guest star in the app. Right click on the image below to save it, or visit our Zoom background gallery for the full selection.
