The books and lessons in Khan Academy Kids are growing by leaps and bounds! Here are the steps for finding your way around the app's Library. Be sure to update the app to the latest version to see all of the new content.
Getting to the Library
Open Khan Academy Kids to the Home Screen (the page with the big house), and tap the purple book icon that says “Library” in the upper left corner. This will take you to the app’s Library, which has multiple tabs for kids to learn and explore.
Explore tabs in the Library. Some can be adjusted by age level.
If you look across the top of the Library, you will see tabs for Books, Videos, Create, Offline, Letters, Reading, Math, and Logic+. Check to see if there is a gray dropdown menu on the upper right side of the tab. If there is, you can adjust the learning level to match your child’s age. Then, scroll down to see all of the subheadings. There are lots of sections, so you might be doing lots of scrolling!
Books
Our Books tab has over 400 titles to delight young readers. Books include fiction stories starring Khan Kids characters, people characters, and non-fiction titles with fun facts about the world. During the month of July (until July 22), you will find the books featured in our Camp Khan Kids summer learning program.
Coloring Pages
Our Create tab offers drawing, coloring, and storytelling opportunities for young children to express themselves. Tap the crayon at the top of the Library to access the Create tab. Every drawing and coloring page has a pencil icon in the upper right corner. Tap that icon to activate more creative features, such as stickers, voice recording, and hiding the toolbar. All creations are saved to the Gallery at the bottom of this tab. Artwork can be saved to your camera roll by using the export feature.

Math Lessons
Select the Math button along the top of the Library to access math lessons. Adjust the gray learning level menu on the right side of the screen to match your child’s age or grade. Browse the lessons. You’ll see topics that range from counting and grouping to patterns, equations, measurement, and more.
Reading Lessons
Tap the section with the pink character to find the Reading tab. That’s Reya—she loves reading! Scroll through reading foundational skills, writing, language, and stories with reading comprehension lessons. Don’t forget to adjust the gray dropdown menu to match your child’s learning level.
Videos
Open the Videos tab in the app’s Library and select your child's age range from the dropdown menu. Our video collection is growing! You’ll see new Sight Words videos in Kinder and 1st Grade, plus yoga and movement videos in 1st and 2nd Grade. Scroll down to access more videos, including lessons from each Khan Kids character.
Letters
Our expanded Letters tab now has hundreds of new phonics lessons covering every letter in the alphabet to help kids ages 3-5 learn how to read. Scroll through to find lessons for lowercase letters, uppercase letters, letter sounds, vowel sounds, and CVC words. Wow!
Logic+
The Logic+ tab is where you’ll find lessons on focus, memory, and flexible thinking. We have matching games, memory games, and activities to help kids follow directions. This section also includes lessons that focus on social-emotional development to explore feelings and emotions.
