Assign lessons to individual students or the whole class
To assign a lesson, you must go into the lesson by tapping the thumbnail. At any point while the lesson is playing, tap the heart ❤️ button in the top left corner to assign. When you tap the heart button, you will see a dialog box that allows you to select the students who receive the assignment and the day you would like students to see the assignment. You can select the whole class, select an individual student, or select a group of students. Tap "Save" to assign the lesson. If you accidentally assign a lesson to the wrong student, you can always edit later. Please scroll down to the section titled, “Edit assignments.”
Set Due Dates for assignments
When you tap into a lesson from the Teacher view, you will see the dialog box above. To set a Due Date, tap the Edit button next to the word “Today.” Please note that “Due Date” refers to the date that the assignment will appear on the student view. If you would like the assignment to appear immediately, keep the Due Date at its default setting of “Today.” If you would like the assignment to appear on a different date in the future, tap the Edit button, select a date, and tap “Save.” Then, tap “Save” again to confirm the assignment.
In your Assignments tab, you will see lessons organized by their Due Dates. Future Assignments do not yet appear in the student view, while Current Assignments are the lessons that students see when they sign in.
Archive old assignments
In your Assignments tab, you will see lessons organized by their Due Dates. Future Assignments do not yet appear in the student view, while Current Assignments are the lessons that students see when they sign in. Scroll down to the bottom to see Archived Assignments. Archived Assignments are lessons that have been assigned in the past, but now enough time has passed that they have been automatically moved out of the student view.
By default, the app automatically archives assignments 2 weeks after the Due Date. If you would like to change the archive criteria, go to Teacher Settings and use the drop-down menus at the bottom of the screen to adjust the time period.
If the time period is set to 3 weeks, that means the assignment will disappear from the student view 3 weeks after the Due Date and move to the teacher’s “Archived Assignments” section. Teachers can still reference student progress on an archived assignment by going to the Assignments tab and tapping the circle next to the lesson thumbnail.
Do you need to change an assignment’s Due Date? Do you need to alter the list of students who received the assignment? From the Teacher view, go to the Assignments tab. Then, tap into the lesson you would like to edit. Be sure to tap the thumbnail to enter the lesson, as if you were about to assign it. Then, tap the heart ❤️ that says “Assigned.” From this view, you can tap the Edit button to change the Due Date. You can also remove a student’s assignment by deselecting their name. Add a student to the assignment by selecting their name. After making changes, tap “Save.”
